I actually like the layout of this one and the overall elements. Again, I was forcing myself to use up some paper. The only thing that saves this one from falling entirely into my "please don't show me that again" pile is that I used my all time favorite color combination: bashful blue and chocolate chip. Plan to see that again :)

Who is the crazy person behind this blog?

My name is Alicia and I live in Cedar City, Utah. Finding myself amidst numerous life and family changes, I thought I'd throw in one more. I have enjoyed paper crafts for years (cheaper than therapy, right???) and decided that I want to archive my creations - even if it is just for me :) Other than a few token visits from friends and family that take pity on me and are willing to visit my site as a courtesy, I predict that this will likely turn out to be just for me to record my own ramblings that are less than interesting to share with anyone else, with a project or two thrown in the postings.

My recent movie of choice is the one (and you know which one I am referring to) about the challenge the main character assigns herself to complete the daunting task of cooking from one end of an enormous cookbook, to the other in just one year. Though I wish I were that ambitious, I will try to be realistic in determining what I can accomplish within the time, space, and financial restraints that will interfere with my own personal challenge.

I was first introduced to Stampin' Up! during a visit to spend time with my cousin/sister/best friend ever, in Virginia. She took me to a stamp camp with her and I was hooked. I (being of an impulsive nature) signed on as a demonstrator within days of returning home. I began to collect and occasionally use, the various products offered by SU! I would buy the specialty paper and accessories and then store them "for something special." Of course, with the introduction of new product, others must be discontinued to "make room." Thus I find myself with a towering stack of my special-occasion paper that has never been used, and is increasing in size as I add more of the latest and greatest. The downside of this method (other than the obvious storage issue the habit creates) is that when I do actually get over my fear of using the "nice" paper, and actually open it up to use it, I find that the accompanying embellishments and accessories (that I did not already purchase) that would make the paper into something special, is no longer available.

Unlike the heroine in the aforementioned movie, I find myself issuing a challenge to myself under different circumstances. Where she had the support and encouragement of her husband, my own dh is working away from home, and does not know of this adventure ;) I am also throwing two children, and two part-time jobs into the mix.

Having said all that by way of introduction (poor writing skills all around thus far), I hereby commit myself to using all of my paper and ALL of my stamp sets, including ALL of the stamps within each stamp set. In what time frame? I am deciding as I am writing this.......that I will give myself 18 months. If it sounds like too generous a time frame, I'll have you know that I currently own {gasp} 85 stamp sets - yes, I did just count them - each with multiple stamps within the set. I am reeling with the magnitude of this revelation of how very out-of-control this "hobby" has become. Yikes!
