Good Morning Sunshine and other fun stuff.....

When I began this blog I had such good intentions of posting frequently. Ha! Life happens. I was finally able to come up with something for a January layout. The pictures don't show it, but the words have glitter on them.

I did eventually come up with something for November too, but I think I'll keep that one to myself- it isn't "post worthy."

Now for some fun.....I am LOVING the "good morning sunshine" designer series paper and "good friend" stamp set from Stampin Up!. I was able to come up with 13 cards using just 3 sheets of the dsp and several sheets of the solid cardstock in "summer sun, chocolate chip, kiwi kiss, and pacific point." I've been making multiple cards of the same pattern and giving them away (to my mother who doesn't use the internet much -luckily for me) as gifts.

I positioned these backwards for the photo- the image on the left shows the inside of the card, the one on the right is for the outside of the card. One was made with a "riding hood red" cardstock as the base, the other "chocolate chip." I was a bad girl- I made them and then didn't want to give them away!

These were not my favorite, but I've had so much fun playing with my new stamp sets and top note die. I've also challenged myself to use up some of my scrapbooking supplies that have been sitting around forever. Nicole and I thought we were getting a real "deal" on some textured "paper" 3 or so years ago and I bought 2 boxes! These black top note cuts are the FIRST time I've used any of them! Disgraceful! It's time to move out the old and make room for the new.

I am caught up and actually ahead on my February and March birthday cards for the girls in my Young Women group at church. The one in the background shows the inside of the cards.

I know, the bird on the card in the foreground is leetle bit scary/psycho. I think I like the arrangement of the second little chirper better. I am absolutely in love with the new corduroy button brads (psycho bird card) and the mini library clips. I will be using them both a lot I am sure.

These birthday cards (part of the gift set I am preparing for my mom) were created at the end of the night when I was trying to use up some of the scraps that were littering my working space. It's hard to pick up on the details in the photos, but the top of the card is slightly shorter than the bottom, so I accented it with the scallop edge punch and paper piercing. I then added a narrow (1/4 inch) strip of cardstock to the bottom piece. The flower and button are both "lifted" with dimensionals. I wish you could see them in person- I made 5 of these in the wee small hours...

I'm uploading backwards! These two creations were at the start of the evening, before I was in full creative mode.

This is a peek at my ugly November layouts- I figured it was a sign that they shouldn't be posted when the 18-month old stuck his foot in the frame just as I clicked on the shutter.

I know, I know, another picture of my crafting space. Believe it or not, it is organized chaos. I've come to love it. I look at other people's blogs and I will be honest, I am a teensy bit jealous of the beautiful rooms and spaces that others have been able to create for their hobbies and interests. This has turned out better than I would have expected for a "budget-friendly" workspace and everything I use is within easy reach. Here's a shout out to my good friend Patty who generously traded this paper rack with me for a Scentsy warmer and bar. The only decent scrapbooking store (that I know of at least) near my house recently had to close their doors. Patty was able to pick this paper rack up from them at a really good deal. I am so happy to have it! I turned the table the other way and now it actually feels like a little "room." When my chair (a fabulous IKEA find) is in there, there is just enough space to turn all the way around- that is, if I keep my knees tucked together and scoot my franny all the way to the back of the chair- He He! My own happy spot. You'll know where to find me....and I'll be anxious to share the next project.....
